Background
This site is a mixture of metamorphic ridge lines and sedimentary rises, with a mixture of EVCs including Grassy Woodland, Heathy Dry Forest and Escapement Shrubland. Objectives
The objectives of this project are based around water quality protection (through the seepage of saline discharge from the site), and restoration of depleted EVCs (particularly Grassy Woodland), and land systems protection, with this site being located in a salinity recharge area. The site is anticipated to be home to fauna including the rare brush tailed phascogale. How we implemented this project
Due to the steep nature of this site - machinery was not an option for the seeding of this site. A team of 20 trained staff hand direct seeded the site, using a diverse mixture of locally indigenous seed. Weed and vermin control is undertaken as part of ongoing management, and additional plantings using tubestock and/or seed will be undertaken as required.
